The New York Jets have upheld their pledge to retain standout running back Breece Hall, finalizing a three-year contract extension, according to multiple reports on Friday.

The deal is valued at $45.75 million overall, with an average annual salary of $15.25 million, as reported by NFL Network. This makes Hall the third-highest-paid player at his position, trailing only Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley ($20.6 million per year) and San Francisco 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey ($19 million per year).

Hall, who will turn 25 on May 31, acknowledged the agreement on X, sharing the news and adding, “Shoutout everyone in my corner. Lot of work left to do. God Bless.”

Earlier in March, the Jets had placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on Hall, worth $14.293 million for the 2026 season. However, both sides expressed a preference for a long-term contract. The non-exclusive tag allowed Hall to negotiate with other teams, while a transition tag would have paid him $11.323 million for one season, potentially making him more appealing to rival suitors.

“Ideally, we’d find a way to get a deal done and keep Breece around,” Jets General Manager Darren Mougey said at the NFL Scouting Combine in late February. “I think I’ve said that for the last year since I’ve got here. Breece is a good player. We want to find a way to keep him around.”

Since being selected by the Jets in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State, Hall has rushed for 3,398 yards and 18 touchdowns over his first four seasons. He achieved a career-high 1,065 rushing yards in 2025, becoming the first Jets player to surpass 1,000 yards since Chris Ivory in 2015. In 56 NFL games (50 starts), Hall has also recorded 188 receptions for 1,642 yards and nine touchdowns.
